Matthew Osteen, a right-handed pitcher, started 13 games during his sophomore season with the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College Tigers, according to the school’s athletic department.
Osteen recorded six wins and struck out 43 batters in that period. He also posted five strikeouts in three games, helping the Tigers secure victories over Parkland, Coahoma, and East Central.
Osteen’s performance drew attention from North Alabama, where he has now signed to continue his baseball career, the school confirmed.
