Mississippi Celebrates 250 Years of American Outdoor Shooting Traditions
Mississippi is celebrating 250 years of outdoor shooting traditions this summer. The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks (MDWFP) is hosting events at its shooting facilities statewide.
From sporting clay courses and pistol ranges to rifle ranges and skeet shoots, MDWFP’s facilities welcome families, friends, beginners, and experienced shooters. The venues serve those preparing for hunting season, learning about shooting sports, or simply enjoying the outdoors.
MDWFP encourages residents to visit their closest shooting facility and participate in the celebrations. The agency’s facilities aim to foster outdoor recreation and marksmanship skills for all ages.
More information on locations and activities is available on the MDWFP website.
Join the festivities this summer and honor 250 years of American marksmanship, according to the department.
