Mississippi governor appoints Craig Treadway as circuit court judge

Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves appointed Craig Treadway of Olive Branch to serve as a circuit court judge for the 21st Circuit Court District, Place 2.

Reeves praised Treadway’s decades of experience as an attorney, prosecutor, and judge at both the county and youth court levels, calling him an outstanding choice to serve the district.

The governor also issued a proclamation reopening the qualification period for the judicial seat. The seven-day period will close at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, August 25, 2026.

Anyone wishing to run in the Nov. 3, 2026, general election for the position must file qualifying papers with the State Board of Election Commissioners, according to the proclamation.
