Mississippi Celebrates Expansion of Aurora Flight Sciences Facility

Mississippi officials celebrated the opening of Aurora Flight Sciences’ expanded facility in Columbus on Friday. The 170,000-square-foot facility supports aircraft including the MQ-25A Stingray, military helicopters, and spacecraft.

Governor Tate Reeves praised the expansion as a win for the state’s aerospace industry and national defense. He credited Mississippi’s workforce for their efforts in attracting investments and creating jobs.

Reeves emphasized that companies like Aurora and Boeing don’t invest heavily or expand unless they see a capable workforce. He said the state is committed to supporting the industry’s growth.

Representatives from Aurora and Boeing attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony, underscoring the significance of the project for Mississippi’s economy and defense sector.
