Mississippi hits record high in employment, governor says
Mississippi has experienced a record-breaking number of workers, Gov. Tate Reeves announced recently.
The Republican governor said the state’s total non-farm employment hit 1,196,200 jobs in July, the highest on record.
Reeves credited the state’s economic growth to ongoing efforts and said Mississippi has seen continuous progress over the past six years. “There’s been no shortage of record-breaking economic news for Mississippi,” he said. “It’s amazing to see what our state is accomplishing and how it’s improving the lives of people across Mississippi. It seems like every week we’re announcing another economic win that’s helping continue Mississippi’s unprecedented momentum.”
