Mississippi hits record employment with over 1.19 million jobs

Mississippi has reached a record level of employment, according to an announcement from Gov. Tate Reeves’ office.

The state reported a total of 1,195,400 non-farm jobs in May, the highest number ever recorded in the state.

Reeves credited the increase to economic growth and job creation efforts. The governor did not specify which sectors contributed most to the gain.

Officials say the employment figures reflect positive economic trends across Mississippi, though they did not provide additional details about the job market outlook.
