Mississippi hosts waterfowl and wetlands conservation event at Museum of Natural Science

The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks (MDWFP) will host a conservation event on September 10, 2026, at the Mississippi Museum of Natural Science, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The event aims to highlight efforts to preserve waterfowl and wetlands across the state. Attendees will learn about habitat management, ongoing research, and stewardship initiatives, according to MDWFP.

Participants will also have opportunities to discuss ways to strengthen partnerships and protect Mississippi’s waterfowl resources. Speakers from various agencies and organizations will lead conversations about the future of waterfowl conservation in the region.

Registration is open at the Mississippi State University Extension website. A $25 fee covers lunch and refreshments, organizers said.
