Mississippi observes June as Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness Month
June is Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness Month in Mississippi. The state is partnering with the Mississippi Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association to promote awareness and support for families affected by the disease.
As part of the effort, the Governor’s Mansion will shine purple all month long to honor those impacted by Alzheimer’s and to emphasize the importance of brain health. Officials hope the display encourages community engagement and education about prevention and care strategies.
The Alzheimer’s Association encourages residents to participate in local events and learn more about the resources available for those living with the disease and their families.
