Mississippi state Rep. Price Wallace has died at age 58, according to a statement from the First Lady of Mississippi, Elee Reeves. Reeves expressed sadness over Wallace’s passing and praised his love for people, his family, and Simpson County.

Wallace served in the Mississippi House of Representatives for nine years, representing constituents in Rankin and Simpson counties. He was chairman of the House Constitution Committee and played a key role in legislation to restore the ballot initiative process in Mississippi, according to Reeves.

A poultry farmer and strong supporter of Mississippi agriculture, Wallace was known for his dedication to his state. Reeves noted his pride in his children and grandson, and said he was a proud Republican and a valued lawmaker.

Reeves and others are praying for Wallace’s wife, Cindy, and his family during this difficult time. Colleagues remember him as a good man who will be missed in the state Capitol.
