Northeast Mississippi Community College honors prison education graduates

Northeast Mississippi Community College celebrated the achievements of 16 students in its Prison Education Program during a recent ceremony.

Among those recognized were two students who earned Humanities Certificates and two who completed their HiSET. The program is a partnership between the college and the Mississippi Humanities Council.

Officials said the initiative continues to demonstrate the transformative power of education for incarcerated individuals and emphasizes the importance of providing learning opportunities within the correctional system.
