DEARMAN, Miss. — Joey Dale Dearman, 51, was sentenced to 15 years in prison after pleading guilty to two counts of fondling a minor child, according to court records.
The plea was entered in Lee County Circuit Court before Judge John R. White. Dearman will serve the sentence day for day, reflecting the severity of the charges, which stemmed from an investigation by the Prentiss County Sheriff’s Office.
Investigator Torie Jumper led the investigation, and prosecutors Joel Baldwin and Kyle Robbins represented the state. The charges resulted from allegations made against Dearman in Prentiss County, authorities said.
Dearman received the maximum penalty for one count of fondling, according to court documents. The case was prosecuted by the First Circuit District District Attorney’s Office.
