IOKA, Mississippi — A man convicted of second-degree murder was sentenced to 30 years in prison without the possibility of parole. Randy Barrett Kelly, 38, received the sentence from Circuit Court Judge Kelly Mims after pleading guilty to the charge.
Kelly was sentenced to the maximum 40 years for second-degree murder, with 10 years suspended. He must serve the remaining 30 years day for day. Kelly entered his guilty plea on August 18, 2026, with sentencing deferred until today.
During the hearing, three members of the victim’s family testified before Kelly addressed the court. Following their statements, Judge Mims ordered the sentence of incarceration.
The case was investigated by the Tishomingo County Sheriff’s Office, led by Investigator Adam Kostelansky. The District Attorney’s Office credited Kostelansky and the sheriff’s office for their work in securing this resolution and providing closure for the victim’s family.
