Northeast Mississippi Community College Team Brings History to Life with VR at Marietta Elementary
The Northeast Tech Connect Team visited Marietta Elementary School to provide eighth-grade English students with a virtual reality experience focused on history. Apple CORES members Zakhia Grizzard and Lily Benjamin led the lesson, helping students explore Anne Frank’s world through VR technology.
The NE Apple CORES (Creating Opportunities to Reach and Empower Students) is a student-led group that offers technology support and promotes creativity and confidence among learners. The team collaborated with Student Activities and the Tech Connect Hub to deliver this hands-on learning experience.
Students virtually entered the annex where Anne Frank hid during World War II, gaining a deeper understanding of her experiences. The activity aimed to make history more engaging and memorable for the students. The school community expressed gratitude for the collaboration, including Mrs. Stephanie Breedlove and her eighth-grade English classes.
