Prentiss County man arrested in connection with 2025 burglary

The Prentiss County Sheriff’s Office arrested Daniel Stout, 33, of County Road 4101, on April 30, 2026, in connection with a 2025 burglary at a residence on the same road.

The investigation began on August 23, 2025, when Deputy Dennis Peeks responded to the home after the owner reported a forced entry and theft of multiple items. Evidence collected at the scene included a blood sample from a broken window, according to authorities.

In April 2026, the Mississippi Forensics Laboratory notified investigators that DNA from the blood sample matched Stout in the CODIS database. Authorities contacted Stout, who admitted to the burglary, officials said.

Stout was taken into custody and booked into the Prentiss County Jail. He faces a charge of burglary of a commercial building. Justice Court Judge Ray Hall set his bond at $25,000, cash only or professional bond.

Investigator Aaron Stolz is expected to present the case to the next Prentiss County grand jury. Investigator Torie Jumper assisted with the investigation, authorities said.
