Tupelo man sentenced to 60 years for 2021 shootings that killed three
TAUPILO, Miss. — A Tupelo man was sentenced to 60 years in prison after pleading guilty to three counts of manslaughter stemming from a July 24, 2021, shooting that left three people dead.
Taquon Garth, 26, entered his guilty pleas on May 1, 2026, in a case that resulted in the deaths of Jessica Pannell, Robben Wilson, and Norahs Coleman. Circuit Court Judge Kelly Mims sentenced Garth to 20 years for each count, with the sentences ordered to run consecutively.
Prosecutors and law enforcement officials credited the Tupelo Police Department and Detective Tyler Cook for their work in the case. The victims’ families expressed gratitude for the outcome, noting their ongoing pain but appreciation for the justice process.
Assistant District Attorney Josh Wise prosecuted the case on behalf of the state. Jason D. Herring is the district attorney for the First Circuit Court District, according to officials.
