Regional Leaders Discuss FAME Partnership at Northeast Mississippi Community College
Regional industry leaders convened today at Northeast Mississippi Community College to discuss a potential partnership with the college to establish a Federation for Advanced Manufacturing Education (FAME) chapter in the area.
FAME offers a program that pairs students with local manufacturers for a hands-on, earn-while-you-learn apprenticeship. The initiative combines coursework with paid on-the-job training, preparing students for careers in advanced manufacturing.
Paul Thomas, associate director of FAME expansion with the Manufacturing Institute, attended the meeting to share insights into how the partnership could benefit the region. Attendees expressed gratitude for everyone involved in the effort to bring FAME to Northeast Mississippi.
