The National Weather Service issued a tornado warning for Hinds County early Wednesday morning, citing possible tornadic activity near Spring Ridge Road, close to Raymond.
A storm spotter reported seeing a tornado touch down in the area, according to authorities. Hinds County Emergency Management Agency spent more than an hour patrolling the area, reporting little to no structural damage.
Despite the severe weather warnings, damages appeared limited, and officials expressed relief at the outcome. Residents are advised to remain vigilant and stay weather-aware, the agency said.
