Elective Surgeries that Require Hospitalization Delayed Starting Next Week
On Friday, Dr. Thomas Dobbs, the state medical officer, announced that a short-term delay of elective surgeries will take place next week if hospitalization will stem from the operation.
Dobbs noted in his announcement on Twitter that the state’s intensive care unit capacity is near maxed out and expects more hospitalizations due to COVID-19 to continue.
