Baldwyn High Senior Completes College Visit at Northeast Mississippi Community College

BALDWYN, Miss. — A Baldwyn High School senior completed a college visit on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at Northeast Mississippi Community College. Matthew Montgomery, III, was accompanied by his mother, Amekia Shenay Bell, during the visit.

During the tour, Montgomery met with Director of Academic Advising Michael Byrd and admissions counselor Katie Jones. They discussed tuition costs, financial aid options, scholarships, and dormitory life, according to sources familiar with the visit.

He also met with Bonnie Wanner, a math instructor at NEMCC, to learn more about academic programs. The visit aligns with efforts to help students prepare for college and explore higher education opportunities, the college said.
