Students at Baldwyn High School had an interactive learning experience Tuesday, thanks to Big Ideas, Inc. The organization visited the school to introduce 10th graders to skilled trades through augmented reality and virtual reality tools.
The students used devices and equipment like WoodED carpentry tables and transfer sets to engage in hands-on tasks. The initiative aims to connect education with potential career pathways in skilled trades.
This is the second year of the program, which was supported by the Toyota Wellspring Education Fund, a fund of the CREATE Foundation, along with the Tennessee Valley Authority and Toyota USA. These partners work to expose students to career options and prepare them for living-wage opportunities through education and career guidance.
Organizers said the program emphasizes experiential learning and career readiness, helping students explore future options beyond the classroom.
