Booneville is accepting applications for its Mayor’s Youth Council, a program designed to foster leadership and community involvement among young residents. The council aims to provide members with opportunities to serve the community, learn about local government, and help shape the city’s future.
Participants can engage in a variety of projects, including community clean-up days, park improvements, and adopt-a-street initiatives. The council also plans to host youth government workshops, leadership events, and literacy campaigns. Additionally, youth will have opportunities to partner on senior citizen appreciation events, food and clothing drives, and holiday giving projects.
The program emphasizes community service, encouraging members to complete at least 150 hours of volunteer work. The goal is for participants to gain leadership experience and take pride in making Booneville a better place to live. City officials believe that today’s youth are not only future leaders but leaders in the present.
