Mississippi Capitol Police celebrate National Dog Month with their K9 officers

Mississippi Department of Public Safety’s Capitol Police are celebrating National Dog Month by highlighting their K9 officers. The department shared photos of four dogs — Tank, Crow, Rambo, and BoBo — along with their handlers.

These K9s perform a variety of duties, including tracking, narcotics detection, and explosives and weapons identification, according to the department. The department emphasized that the dogs are always ready to work, despite receiving treats and belly rubs from their handlers.

The department encouraged the public to show support for the K9 units and their handlers, who work together daily to ensure safety at the Capitol. The post included hashtags such as #NationalDogMonth, #K9Officers, and #CapitolPolice.
