Mississippi DPS increases law enforcement for Ole Miss-LSU game weekend
Commissioner Sean Tindell of the Mississippi Department of Public Safety announced an enhanced law enforcement presence in Oxford ahead of the Ole Miss-LSU football game this weekend.
Tindell said the increased patrols aim to ensure the safety of visitors and residents during the busy event. “This weekend will bring a significant number of visitors to Oxford, and our priority is making sure everyone can enjoy the game and surrounding events safely,” he said.
He credited cooperation among state troopers, local police, the University of Mississippi, and Louisiana State Police for their coordinated efforts. “We are prepared, proactive and working together,” Tindell said. “We encourage everyone coming to Oxford to plan ahead, be patient on the roadways and do their part to make it a safe and enjoyable weekend.”
