Mississippi Fish Hatchery offers free Fish Camp for youth in June
The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks’ Bob Tyler Fish Hatchery will host a Fish Camp for youth ages 10 to 15 on June 10, 2026. The event runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the hatchery’s Visitor Education Center.
The full-day program includes fish identification, water safety tips, a tour of the hatchery, and catfish fishing in the VEC pond. Participants will also meet a National Park Service ranger and learn about the Jr. Angler Badge, according to MDWFP.
The event is free, but space is limited. Pre-registration is required. Interested individuals can call the VEC at (662) 563-8068 or email Emily-Jo.Wiggins@wfp.ms.gov to receive a registration form.
