The Bob Tyler Fish Hatchery Visitor Education Center in Mississippi hosted several teacher workshops this summer, giving educators the chance to participate as students in various activities.
Participants earned Continuing Education Units (CEUs) while learning about Mississippi’s aquatic resources, fisheries conservation, hatchery operations, boating education, and field trip opportunities, according to the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks.
Each workshop concluded with a session on “red, white, and blue Gyotaku” printing. The department provided an educator planning packet for future events, which is available online.
