Mississippi Fisheries Biologists Release Spring Fishing Forecasts

Fisheries biologists with the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks review fall sampling data each spring to develop fishing forecasts for the state’s regions, the agency said.

The forecasts provide anglers with information on the health and abundance of popular fish species, including crappie, bass, catfish, and bream. The goal is to help anglers plan their trips more effectively.

To view the fishing forecast for your region, visit the department’s website at mdwfp.com.

MDWFP encourages anglers to use the forecasts to enhance their fishing experience and stay informed about regional fish populations throughout the year.
