Mississippi Governor Praises State’s National Guard at Conference

Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves praised the state’s National Guard during the 2026 NGAMS State Conference, calling it the best in the country. Reeves celebrated their service and signed Senate Bill 2018 at the event.

Reeves also presented Mississippi Distinguished Civilian Service Medal to musician Steve Azar, recognizing his contributions to the state. The governor emphasized the importance of the National Guard and its role in the state’s safety.

Reeves concluded by reaffirming Mississippi’s commitment to supporting its military personnel, stating, “Shoulder to shoulder.”
