Landowners and managers in North Mississippi can learn about the benefits of prescribed fire at an event in Union County on September 1. The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks is hosting the Prescribed Burn Association meeting in New Albany.
The session will cover how prescribed fire can enhance wildlife habitats, improve timber health, and reduce wildfire risks. Attendees will hear from various partners and connect with others interested in using fire safely and effectively.
The event runs from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at a location in Union County. Pre-registration is required. Landowners are encouraged to register online through a provided link.
