The Mississippi Prescribed Fire Council hosted its biennial membership meeting, drawing 91 participants including landowners, agency staff, forestry consultants, and natural resource professionals.
The event featured presentations and discussions on private land burning, prescribed fire research, wildlife management, and ways for the Fire Council to better serve its members, according to a department news release.
Participants shared different perspectives and experiences related to the safe and effective use of prescribed fire. Organizers expressed appreciation for speakers, sponsors, partners, and attendees who contributed to the success of the gathering.
