Mississippi warns of heavy rainfall, flooding, and wind threats
Portions of Mississippi are expected to experience periods of intense rainfall over the next several days, according to weather authorities. The heavy rain could lead to widespread and life-threatening flash, urban, and river flooding, officials warn.
Gusty winds and coastal flooding are also possible along parts of the northwestern Gulf Coast, the National Weather Service said. Tropical Storm Watches or Warnings could be issued on Tuesday, depending on the storm’s development.
Residents are advised to stay weather-aware and take necessary precautions to stay safe during the approaching weather events, authorities added.
