Mississippi Wildlife Officers Participate in Water Rescue Training at Ross Barnett Reservoir
Conservation officers with the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks participated in a multi-agency water incident training session at Ross Barnett Reservoir, according to department officials.
The training focused on using side scan sonar to locate victims and assisting during dive team operations in dark, muddy water conditions. Officers also continued their professional development through ongoing dive team exercises.
The session was conducted in collaboration with the Hinds County Emergency Operations Center, the Rankin County Emergency Operations Center, and the MDWFP dive team, officials said.
