Northeast Mississippi Community College shares fall break updates, award recognition and sports schedule
Northeast Mississippi Community College used recent posts to share three updates that may matter to students and families connected to the college: a staff award, fall break proctoring hours and a sports schedule.
Tiffany Johnson named Northeast Way Award recipient
The college said Tiffany Johnson, Development Foundation Financial Officer, is this month’s Northeast Way Award recipient. Northeast Mississippi Community College said the award honors employees who go above and beyond to support students, colleagues and the Northeast community.
In the college’s post, one community member said they saw Johnson sit with a NEMCC student at a son’s high school basketball game and explain courses and scholarship opportunities. The college also said Johnson is known for celebrating the expertise of Northeast employees and offering help even when a question is outside her own job description.
The post said Johnson encourages students to apply for scholarships, work hard and make the most of their time at Northeast. The college added that she has served Northeast and its students for years and that her commitment continues beyond the workday.
Proctoring Center remains open during fall break
Northeast Mississippi Community College said fall break is here and that campus may be closed during the upcoming week. Even so, the Proctoring Center will remain open so students can keep on track with exams.
The college said the Proctoring Center has a schedule for hours at each location and told students to plan ahead and make arrangements for their exams. The post did not include the hours in the text provided.
Tiger athletics shares fall break slate
Northeast Tiger Athletics said its fall break schedule includes a full week of home games. The athletics account also said the Lady Tiger basketball team begins its exhibition schedule on Sunday in Georgia.
In a separate post, Northeast Volleyball said it has two more home games this week, including a Wednesday matchup against No. 22 Jones. The team’s post said, “One down…. Two to go!”
For readers connected to the college, the updates point to three practical takeaways: recognition for a staff member who supports students, continued exam proctoring during campus closure and scheduled athletic events during the break.
