Prentiss County deputies recover stolen Polaris Ranger and arrest suspects

Prentiss County deputies recovered a stolen 2011 green Polaris Ranger 570 and arrested two suspects following an investigation that began on July 13, 2026. The sheriff’s department received a report that the vehicle was taken from a property on County Road 1280.

Deputies Ridge Lawson and AJ Navarro, along with investigators Aaron Stolz and Torie Jumper, responded to the scene. Evidence indicated the gate lock had been cut, and the vehicle was stolen from a barn. Investigators later located the vehicle at a residence on County Road 1254. The stolen side-by-side had been spray-painted and was missing several parts, including the bed, windshield, tailgate, rims, and tires, which were recovered from multiple locations.

Following interviews, authorities charged Joshua Thomas, 29, of Booneville, with grand larceny and malicious mischief. Ricky Ott, 46, of Booneville, was charged with receiving stolen property and malicious mischief. Both suspects were taken to the Prentiss County Jail, where Judge Ray Hall set their bonds at $100,000 each.

Investigator Aaron Stolz is leading the case and plans to present it to the next Prentiss County grand jury. The sheriff’s department praised the teamwork of deputies and investigators that led to the recovery of the stolen property and the arrests.
