Authorities locate and arrest suspects in Mount Olive officer-involved shooting
Mount Olive, Mississippi — Authorities announced early Wednesday that two suspects wanted in connection with an officer-involved shooting have been located and arrested without incident.
Cortavious Lawayne Hobbs, 18, and Cortavion Dewayne Hobbs, 19, were wanted in connection with the shooting that occurred around 3:38 p.m. Tuesday in Mount Olive, according to the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation. Both individuals were believed to be armed and dangerous at the time.
Police issued a Blue Alert for the brothers, who were last seen in the area of the 200 block of South Bluff Street. Authorities described them as black males, both wearing hoodies — one in a black hoodie and the other in a camouflage hoodie. The suspects are both 5 feet 6 inches tall, weigh approximately 140 pounds, and have brown eyes and black hair.
Officials urged the public to call 911 if they spotted the suspects or observed any suspicious activity. They also provided the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation’s tip line at 855-642-5378 for information leading to their whereabouts.
Authorities did not specify details of the shooting or the suspects’ current status following their arrest.
