Prentiss County Honors Senior Citizens at Annual Appreciation Day
PRENTISS COUNTY, Miss. — District Attorney Jason D. Herring attended the Prentiss County Senior Citizens Appreciation Day, organized by the county’s TRIAD program and sheriff’s department. Herring expressed gratitude to those who helped make the event successful.
Herring, along with Assistant District Attorneys Kyle Robbins and Joel Baldwin, participated in the event. Sheriff Randy Tolar and the Prentiss County Sheriff’s Department hosted the gathering, which included a brief speech from Herring.
During his remarks, Herring addressed the rise in scams targeting seniors. He warned of phone calls, text messages, emails, and social media schemes designed to exploit older adults. Herring advised seniors to be cautious, ask questions, and consult someone they trust before sharing personal information or sending money.
He thanked volunteers, vendors, organizers, and community partners for their efforts, and emphasized his appreciation for the county’s senior citizens. Herring called the day an honor and praised seniors for their contributions to families and communities.
