Kindergarten class in Baldwyn explores shapes through art project
Students in Mrs. Raines and Ms. Amber’s kindergarten class at Baldwyn School District have been learning about squares and rectangles. The class incorporated their reading vocabulary words “plan” and “idea” into a creative activity.
Using construction paper, the children cut out squares and rectangles to make various pictures. Their creations included robots, robot houses, The Giant Square, the sun, a house, and family members.
The lesson aligned with standard K.G.1 and aimed to integrate shape recognition with vocabulary development, according to the district.
The activity encouraged students to think critically and creatively while reinforcing their understanding of geometric shapes.
