Mississippi students showcase art in 2026 Youth Art Contest
The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks’ Visitor Education Center announced the winners of its 2026 Youth Art Contest. About 1,150 students from across the state submitted artwork for consideration, according to the department.
First-place winners include Charlsie Johnson for Category I with “The Hummingbird in the Morning,” Wesley Clark for Category II with “Squirrel in a Tree,” Willow Kinkead for Category III with “Opossum Passage,” and Mack Hutson for Category IV with “Whispers of the Bayou,” department officials said.
The contest was sponsored by the Mississippi Wildlife, Fisheries, Parks, and Marine Foundation. The department encouraged the public to view the winning artwork online. The top entries can be seen at the department’s website.
