Mississippi is investing $3.4 million to enhance mental health services for children, adolescents, and young adults, Gov. Tate Reeves announced Monday.
The funds will support Methodist Children’s Homes of Mississippi in expanding programs to help young people overcome adversity and reach their potential, according to a news release from the governor’s office.
The investment, totaling $3,375,709, aims to address mental health needs that have increased amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the release said. The funding is part of the Community Development Block Grant CARES Act Coronavirus Relief effort.
Reeves emphasized that the funds will help provide critical support for youth facing mental health challenges during these difficult times.
