Mississippi man facing drug and firearm charges after bicycle stop

PRENTISS COUNTY, Miss. — A man was arrested after a traffic stop involving a bicycle in Prentiss County, authorities said.

On July 28, 2026, Investigator Kolby Knight stopped the bicycle for failure to stop at a traffic control device, according to the Prentiss County Sheriff’s Office. North Mississippi Narcotics Agent Grady Smith assisted with the stop.

During the encounter, Investigator Knight identified the rider as Danny Michael Grove Jr., 44, of Booneville. Authorities found Grove in possession of powder cocaine and a handgun, the sheriff’s office said.

Grove was taken into custody and booked into the county jail. Prentiss County Justice Court Judge Ray Hall set his bond at $20,000. The case will be presented to a grand jury by Agent Smith, officials said.
