Mississippi woman charged with drug and child abuse after traffic stop

Prentiss County Deputy Ethan Hester conducted a traffic stop on August 6, 2026, for improper equipment. During the stop, authorities arrested Linda Strange, 59, of Booneville.

Strange was charged with possession of methamphetamine and child abuse, specifically allowing a child to be present during the incident, according to court records. Prentiss County Justice Court Judge Ray Hall set her bond at $15,000.

North Mississippi Narcotics Agent Grady Smith is expected to present the case to the next grand jury. Deputy N’shaun Cameron assisted in the traffic stop, authorities said.
