Mississippi man sentenced to 12 years for fentanyl trafficking

Alderius Rashad Morrow was sentenced to 12 years in Mississippi Department of Corrections custody after pleading guilty to fentanyl trafficking in Tupelo on May 4, 2026, court records show.

Judge Kelly L. Mims sentenced Morrow to 40 years, with 28 years suspended. Because of the trafficking offense, he is not eligible for parole or early release and must serve the full 12-year sentence day-for-day.

The North Mississippi Narcotics Unit investigated Morrow’s criminal activity. The District Attorney’s Office credited the NMNU’s work in targeting narcotics traffickers in the community.

Assistant District Attorney Megan French prosecuted the case on behalf of the state. Jason D. Herring is the district attorney for the First Circuit Court District.
