Mississippi man sentenced to 15 years for meth trafficking
Dale Wayne Griggs was sentenced to 15 years in prison after pleading guilty to methamphetamine trafficking in Mississippi. The sentence was handed down in a hearing before Circuit Court Judge Michael P. Mills Jr. on May 14, 2026, in Tupelo.
Judge Mills sentenced Griggs to 40 years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections, with 25 years suspended. Griggs will serve the remaining 15 years without the possibility of parole or early release.
Following his release, Griggs will be on five years of post-release supervision. His case was investigated by the North Mississippi Narcotics Unit, and authorities praised their efforts in targeting narcotics traffickers, according to the District Attorney’s Office.
Jason D. Herring, First Circuit Court District District Attorney, commended the narcotics unit for their work on the case.
