Mississippi park hosts kayaking event for Fourth of July weekend
Mississippi’s Paul B. Johnson State Park will host a kayaking event on July 3 in celebration of Independence Day, according to the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks.
The activity runs from 9 a.m. to noon and offers participants a chance to paddle through scenic waterways while honoring 250 years of American independence and outdoor traditions, the department said.
Participants are encouraged to bring their own kayaks and paddling gear. The event is free with paid park admission. Organizers noted that all participants must supply their own equipment.
The department promoted the event as a way to combine adventure, history, and holiday spirit. More information is available on the department’s website.
