Baldwyn High School junior Addyson Pippin recently shadowed an optometrist at The Eye Clinic of Saltillo as part of a career exploration program, school officials said.
During her visit, Pippin observed Dr. Lansdell and her staff as they examined, diagnosed, and treated patients. She also learned about prescribing glasses and contact lenses, as well as managing eye diseases.
Pippin described her experience as positive, noting that everyone was kind and welcoming. She appreciated the chance to see behind the scenes and learn more about the field of optometry, according to a school spokeswoman.
She and her career coach, Molly Goodson, expressed gratitude to Dr. Lansdell and the staff at The Eye Clinic for providing the opportunity.
