Man charged with embezzlement after missing money, merchandise at Prentiss County Dollar General
The Prentiss County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a theft at a Dollar General store. A report was filed indicating money and merchandise went missing from the store, according to authorities.
Deputy Dennis Peeks responded to the scene and completed an initial report. Following the investigation, Joshua Dean Leon, 44, of Corinth, was charged with embezzlement. He is accused of taking more than $4,000 from the store.
Judge Craig Bishop set Leon’s bond at $10,000. Authorities also placed a hold on Leon for the Mississippi Department of Corrections, as he was on house arrest at the time of the alleged offense.
Investigator Kolby Knight is expected to present the case to the next Prentiss County Grand Jury. Investigators Torie Jumper and Aaron Stolz assisted in the case, according to officials.
