Mississippi man indicted on statutory rape charges involving minor

The Prentiss County Sheriff’s Department announced that a 20-year-old Baldwyn man has been indicted on charges of statutory rape. The indictment follows an investigation prompted by Child Protective Services reports involving a 15-year-old girl.

Authorities said the girl was allegedly pregnant by the man and that he was residing in the same home. After further investigation, affidavits were signed, and warrants were issued for his arrest. Preston Scott Culver was taken into custody and charged with statutory rape, according to the sheriff’s office.

The case was presented by Investigator Torie Jumper, with assistance from Investigator Aaron Stolz and Deputy Cody Horn. Culver has also been linked to similar charges in Pontotoc County involving a different minor. A Prentiss County grand jury has now formally indicted Culver on the statutory rape charge.

No additional details about the case were provided by authorities.
